Can we see and change our system?

Most strategy assumes the world will hold still while we act on it. It won't. This diagnostic follows the six steps of the WEAVER framework and asks whether your organization can see the system it works in — and change it.

Part One · Themes 1–4

Seeing the system

Before you can change a system, you have to be able to see it: your own assumptions, the story that defines the problem, the future you're moving toward, and who and what keeps things as they are.

Part Two · Themes 5–8

Changing the system

Once you can see the system, the question becomes what you change, and what you build so the change lasts: how you treat technology and data, whether you can interrupt the cycles that keep producing the same results, and whether your relationships hold when things get hard.

How to rate

Rate each statement 1–5. Use the notes to say what makes you say that, and name one thing that would raise your rating by a point. If you're doing this as a team, each person fills it out alone first — then bring your ratings together and don't just average them.

1–2
Doesn't reflect us

A blind spot — where you're least equipped to see or design clearly. A low score is a gift: it tells you where to look.

3
Aware, not built in

Aware, not yet practiced. You know the idea but haven't built the habit.

4–5
Reflects us well

A claim to test, not a finish line. Run it against a real use case with the people it affects in the room.

One caution.

The most dangerous result is a confident wall of 4s and 5s. Overestimating how clearly you already see, or how much of this work you've already done, is where the trouble usually starts. Rate honestly — a low score is a gift. It tells you where to look.

What you get

Fifty minutes. You'll get a clear-eyed read of where your organization actually is — theme scores, an honesty check, where to focus — plus a brief you can bring to a conversation. If you want that conversation with me, the coaching hour includes the diagnostic.
